The “Icebergs” series was captured in Western Greenland in 2019 during a yacht expedition. At night, icebergs take on an especially awe-inspiring and enigmatic presence, their immense forms both mesmerizing and perilous to approach. Yet, thanks to the generosity of the captain and crew, I had the rare opportunity to photograph these majestic giants under extraordinary conditions.
While the rest of the team slept, I remained in the wheelhouse, the only one awake besides the watchman. It was an intimate and deeply personal experience – one that I sought to translate into these images, capturing the quiet solitude and profound atmosphere of the Arctic night.
asked the helmsman to circle this iceberg – it had a strikingly unusual shape, and I was searching for the best angle. But there was no need to complete the turn – soon, a predator stared back at me.
